Valve Exercising Program
The Village of Middlefield Streets & Utilities Department will be conducting a valve exercising program to maintain the quality and longevity of all water system valves. Keeping these valves operating properly is extremely important in times of emergency. Sections of a distribution system may be to be shut down to make repair without interrupting service to other areas.
Valve exercising consist of closing and opening each valve several times to remove sediment from the valve seat. During this process customers might experience discolored water and sediment for a short period of time. If you should notice this in your home, running several faucets at full force for a short period will usually flush out any discolored water.
Valve exercising will begin the week of August 10th hours of operations are from 8:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday until completed.
