Offering outstanding assistance to businesses and industry also is Geauga County Department of Community and Economic Development (CED). The CED develops and implements strategies and programs to retain and expand county businesses and increase jobs. This Department administers the Geauga Revolving Loan Fund and the Middlefield Revolving Loan Fund Program. CEDs business services include confidential information and assistance in locating sites, buildings, financing, and state and local incentives. CED maintains an economic development database which consists of sites, buildings, financing, and other incentive programs. The CED also addresses homebuyer assistance, public improvements, fair housing, septic and well improvements and rehabilitation of existing housing stock.

Other business partners include Geauga County Community Improvement Corporation, and Geauga Growth Partnership, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland – Community Development that provide information, business opportunities, special projects and further economic incentives.
