The Village of Middlefield is the center of activity for the eastern half of Geauga County, located in the northeast quadrant of Ohio, approximately 35 miles east of the City of Cleveland and adjacent to the counties of Lake, Ashtabula, Trumbull, Portage, Summit and Cuyahoga.

The Village of Middlefield offers ready access to both north-south and east-west interstate highways as well as the Ohio/Pennsylvania’s turnpike systems (east/west).

Air Travel

The Village of Middlefield is ideally located near four major airports: Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, Pittsburgh International Airport, Burke Lakefront Airport and Akron Canton Regional Airport. In addition the Village of Middlefield is home to the Geauga County Airport (Geauga County Airport call sign is 7G8), ideal for corporate, single-engine travel. University Hospitals MediVac helicopter is housed at this facility, providing immediate access to any of the outstanding medical facilities within northeast Ohio. Middlefield is a 40-minute drive to the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic and a 15-minute drive to University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center, an acute care facility providing a full range of services to Geauga residents.

Geauga County Transit

Geauga County Transit provides for the transportation needs of all Geauga County residents in a safe, professional manner, thus providing the means to maintain mobility and quality of life. Geauga County Transit offers a demand-responsive door-to-door transit system within the County with some out-of-county service. Service is provided 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Reservations are suggested with at least three days notice but can be made up to one week in advance.
